Third season of "Shūmatsu no Valkyrie / Record of Ragnarok" available on Netflix

The third season of the anime series "Shūmatsu no Valkyrie" (English title: "Record of Ragnarok") is now available exclusively on the streaming platform Netflix. The new season brings two well-known figures from mythology into focus.

The new characters and their voice actors are:

- Sakata Kintoki, voiced by Shunsuke Takeuchi

- Siegfried, voiced by Kōsuke Toriumi

Both actors commented on their involvement in separate statements. Takeuchi described the series as an energetic work and looked forward to embodying Kintoki's characteristic laid-back aura. Toriumi referred to the special role of his character Siegfried in the conflict between gods and humans.

The ending song "Last breath, Last record" is responsible for the musical conclusion of the new episodes. The title was written by the voice actress Saori Hayami, who voices the Valkyrie Göll in the series. An official video of the song without credits was released.

The opening song of the season comes from the band GLAY, which also issued a statement on the collaboration.

"Record of Ragnarok" is based on a manga by Shinya Umemura, Takumi Fukui, and Ajichika. In the story, humanity must fight for its survival in a battle of the gods by pitting historical figures against mythological gods. The first season of the anime adaptation was released in 2021, the second followed in 2023.
