The third season of the anime adaptation of the manga “Wistoria: Wand and Sword” (Japanese: “Tsue to Tsurugi no Wistoria”) has been officially confirmed. The announcement came immediately after the finale of the second season, which aired on Japanese television on June 28, 2026. To celebrate the decision, a specially created commemorative visual and a short announcement trailer were released.

The new visual was drawn specifically for this occasion by character designer Sayaka Ono. In parallel, the production team revealed further details about the upcoming home video releases: The upper Blu-ray box of the second season will be released on August 26, 2026, followed by the lower box on November 27, 2026. Both covers are designed to form a continuous motif when placed together. Additionally, on June 29, 2026, the official soundtrack for the first and second seasons will be released digitally—a total of 89 tracks encompassing all background music from the series.

“Wistoria: Wand and Sword” is based on the manga of the same name by Fujino Omori (author of “DanMachi”) and illustrator Toshi Aoi. The series has been serialized in Kodansha’s “Bessatsu Shonen Magazine” since December 2020 and now comprises 15 volumes. In February 2026, it was announced that the circulation had surpassed three million copies. The international release of the anime is handled by the streaming service Crunchyroll.

The second season has been airing on Japanese television on TBS and other channels since April 2026. The production is once again handled by studios BN Pictures and Actas. Tatsuya Yoshihara serves as chief director, with Hideaki Nakano directing. The series composition is by Noboru Kimura, and the music is by Yuki Hayashi. The extensive voice cast includes Kohei Amasaki as protagonist Will Serfort, Akira Sekine as Elfaria, and numerous other well-known voices.

An exact start date for the third season has not yet been set. However, those in charge announced that production is already underway and that further details will be revealed at a later time.
