According to police reports, over 20 threats have already been sent to locations associated with the sports manga *Kuroko no Basuke* and its illustrator Tadatoshi Fujimaki, including the Osaka-based broadcaster Mainichi Hoso, which aired the 25-episode anime adaptation by Studio Production I.G from April to September 2012. The threat was designed in the form of an A4 sheet containing messages such as, "Do your best to strengthen your defenses. It won’t work." Based on the postmark, the letter was mailed on October 26 from a post office in Osaka.

Additional threats were sent in early and mid-October to Tadatoshi Fujimaki, Toyama High School in Shibuya, Tokyo, and Sophia University. The letters demand the discontinuation of the *Kuroko no Basuke* manga and are mostly laced with a powdery hydrogen sulfide mixture, which, according to investigations, can be lethal when vaporized in large quantities.
