A television anime series is being produced for the light novel series 'Isekai Tensei Sōdōki' (English: roughly 'Turmoil Over a Rebirth in Another World') by Takami Yanagawa. This has now been officially announced, along with the release of the first visual material. Voice actor Yūsuke Kobayashi will play the lead role of Baldo.
The story revolves around the young nobleman Baldo, the heir of House Cornelius in the Kingdom of Mauricia. However, three souls are united within his body: that of the frugal warlord Okasane, who once served the Uesugi clan, and that of the modern otaku student Masaharu Oka, who has a fondness for catgirls. While Okasane's spirit sharpens Baldo's martial arts and business acumen, Masaharu uses his knowledge from the present day for groundbreaking inventions and immense economic success. Thus, Baldo makes a name for himself in managing his territories and on the battlefield, eventually even being able to influence the fate of the entire kingdom.
The underlying light novel by Takami Yanagawa is published by AlphaPolis, with illustrations provided by Ririnra. Concurrently, a manga adaptation by Honoji is also being published by AlphaPolis; the 14th volume will be released on March 16. To mark this occasion, a giveaway is starting on the official X account, where signed color plates by the artists will be raffled off.
