Yang Cheng, an orphan and aspiring actor, works as an E-Soul performer in a children's theater, inspired by his idol, the masked top hero E-Soul. Despite his low Trust Value, he dreams of one day being recognized as a true hero. At the same time, he tries to get closer to his secret love Xia Qing but fails due to self-doubt and her connection to Shang Chao, an ambitious classmate. During an MG Amusement Park audition for E-Soul's anniversary event, Yang Cheng is rejected despite his elaborate costume, as his low Trust Value and "outdated" performance are criticized. However, his encounter with Pomelo, Xia Qing's younger brother, who praises his authenticity, motivates him to keep fighting. While Yang Cheng tries to look after Pomelo, the boy falls into the hands of criminals Da Hu and Er Hu, who kidnap him. Yang Cheng intervenes, uses his E-Soul costume to stop the brothers, and rescues Pomelo in a dramatic chase. His improvised heroics—despite lacking powers—even impress Xia Qing, who admires him as "E-Soul" without knowing his true identity. Meanwhile, during his anniversary speech, E-Soul reveals why he has remained masked for 34 years: the mask symbolizes his promise never to betray people's trust. Yang Cheng realizes that true heroism depends not on superpowers but on courage and sincerity. The episode ends with a cliffhanger: Shang Chao, Xia Qing's wealthy classmate and secret rival, exposes Yang Cheng's identity and confronts him with the words: "I'm here for you... Yang Cheng."
