Tongari Boushi no Atelier is getting an anime adaptation

On the official website of the magazine Morning Two by Kodansha, it was announced that Kamome Shirahama's manga Witch Hat Atelier will receive an anime adaptation. A special teaser video was also released.



Shirahama launched the fantasy adventure manga in July 2016 in the Morning Two magazine. A total of 2.5 million volumes of Tongari Boushi no Atelier are in circulation.

Kodansha publishes the manga in English and describes the story as follows:

In a world where everyone takes wonders like spells and dragons for granted, Coco is a girl with a simple dream: she wants to be a witch. But everyone knows that magicians are born, not made, and Coco wasn’t born with a gift for magic. Coco has resigned herself to her unmagical life and is on the verge of giving up her dream of becoming a witch... until the day she meets Qifrey, a mysterious traveling magician. After secretly watching Qifrey cast spells in a way she’s never seen before, Coco soon learns what everyone "knows" might not be the truth, and discovers that her magical dream may not be as far away as it seems...
