The second season of the anime adaptation of Yura Urushibara’s manga “Tougen Anki” is titled the “Nikko-Kegon Falls Arc” and has been unveiled with a new key visual as well as eight additional voice roles. The image shows the so-called Oni Brigade – a group of demons that does not belong to the official demon organization – led by their charismatic leader Hayate Todoroki, voiced by Gakuto Kajiwara.
The reveal took place on July 2, 2026, in a special program broadcast on ABEMA, in which, alongside the already known main cast members Kazuki Ura (Shiki Ichinose), Kotaro Nishiyama (Jin Kogasaki), and Natsuki Hanae (Juji Yusuribe), Kajiwara also made a surprise appearance. Other new members of the Oni Brigade are:
- Uri Torikai (Kentaro Kumagai)
- Shinichi Fuwa (Ryuho Nagaoka)
- Misaki Kakoi (Tomohiro Ono)
- Gou Hyakumeki (Shintaro Ohata)
- Kyotaro Otohara (Yuki Sakakibara)
- Akari Hirunuma (Wataru Hatano)
- Miyo Umitsuki (Hitomi Ueda)
The characters cover a wide range: from the dutiful support of the leader, to the blind tactician with a special ability, to the only woman in the group, who is extremely hostile toward men.
Already at AnimeJapan 2026 in March, two additional voice actors were confirmed: Nobuhiko Okamoto as Hagure Nekosaki and Kent Ito as Yu Innami. The first season of “Tougen Anki” covered the two arcs “Kyoto” and “Nerima” and aired on Japanese television from July to December 2025. The original manga by Yura Urushibara has been serialized in “Weekly Shonen Champion” (Akita Shoten) since 2020 and has reached a total circulation of over six million copies. The story reimagines the well-known folk tale “Momotaro” and depicts the centuries-old conflict between humans with demon blood and those with Momotaro blood.
The second season will air from October 2026 in the “FRIDAY ANIME NIGHT” slot on Japanese TV network Nippon TV. The series is being produced under the direction of Ato Nonaka at Studio Hibari; the series composition is handled by Yukie Sugawara, and the music is by KOHTA YAMAMOTO.
