On May 19, 2026, Japanese publisher Shueisha released the first volume of "TOUGH: Chapter 2" (Japanese: TOUGH 第二章). The series is by manga artist Tetsuya Saruwatari and is the direct sequel to "TOUGH: Ryū o Tsugu Otoko," which concluded in June 2025. The story picks up on the events surrounding the secret martial art Nada-Shinkage-Ryu. Protagonist Kiichi Miyazawa, also known as Kiibo, steps into the professional mixed martial arts ring—not only to prove himself but also to fulfill the dream of Ryusei, who was severely injured in a plane crash. The series has been serialized in the magazine "Weekly Playboy" since September 22, 2025. The first volume spans 200 pages and is available in paperback (Young Jump Comics) as well as digitally. The "Tough" series, which began in 1993 with "Kōkō Tekken-den Tough," has circulated over 16 million copies in total.
