Touken Ranbu: Do-den Kinshi Samuraumono-ra premieres in August

The new anime "Touken Ranbu: Do-den Kinshi Samuraumono-ra," a prequel to "Touken Ranbu: Kyouden Moyuru Honnouji," will be screened in Japanese theaters for a limited time of three weeks starting August 16. The story revolves around the events leading up to the main series.

The screenplay is written by Kenichi Suemitsu, known for his work on the "Touken Ranbu" stage plays and as the screenwriter and composer for the series "Touken Ranbu: Kyouden Moyuru Honnouji." Suemitsu revealed that the story will explore the time when Heshikiri Hasebe served as an attendant and depict how the role of the attendant shifted from Yamanbagiri Kunihiro to Heshikiri Hasebe, then to Mikazuki Munechika, and finally back to Yamanbagiri Kunihiro.

A visual teaser featuring Yamanbagiri Kunihiro and Heshikiri Hasebe was released alongside a special 30-second trailer. The image and trailer highlight the story's focus on Yamanbagiri Kunihiro's struggle against the near annihilation of his unit and Heshikiri Hasebe's new appointment as guardian by the Saniwa. This narrative will serve as a bridge to the events of "Kyouden."
