The film, titled "Saint Seiya: The Beginning" in Japan, is directed by Tomasz Baginski, who previously served as an executive producer for Netflix's "The Witcher" and directed short films such as "Polish Legends" and the Oscar-nominated "The Cathedral." The screenplay was written by Matt Stuecken and Josh Campbell, who also worked on "10 Cloverfield Lane," while Andy Cheng, known for his work on "Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings," oversees the action direction.

"Knights of the Zodiac" is set to release in Japanese theaters on April 28 and stars Famke Janssen, Nick Stahl, Diego Tinoco, and Mark Dacascos. The original manga series, published by Shueisha between 1986 and 1990, spans 28 volumes and has inspired various anime series, OVAs, films, light novels, and other manga. The sequel, "Saint Seiya Next Dimension: Myth of Hades," began in 2016 and will comprise 13 volumes by June 2021.
