Trailer for OVA "The Ancient Magus' Bride" presented

A new trailer has been released for the new OVA series of The Ancient Magus' Bride titled The Boy from the West and the Knight of the Blue Storm. Studio Kafka is animating the series.

Three episodes will be released alongside special editions of the manga volumes. The first episode comes with Volume 16, which will be released on September 10, 2021. Volumes 17 and 18 will be released in 2022 (March 10 and September 10) and will include episodes 2 and 3.

The new OVA will follow Gabriel, a new character. Crunchyroll describes the story as follows:

Gabriel is an ordinary boy who has just moved from London and is bored with his surroundings until one day he sees a plume of purple smoke from his house window. At that time, he hurriedly chased after the smoke, searching for some kind of freedom and fun. Though they shouldn't, the worlds of boys and magicians soon intersect... Meanwhile, in the middle of an unusual, ordinary day where Elias is helping Chise prepare for her journey to college, Spriggan arrives at the mansion on a seemingly eerie horse with a grim message: "The appearance of the Ghost Hunting Corps is very strange this time."
