The novel Tristukare Otoko by Shinji Ishii is being adapted into a musical animated film, set to hit theaters in the fall. Alongside the announcement, a first teaser and a visual were released.

The work, first published in 2001 and released as a paperback in 2006, tells the story of Giuseppe. The young man is known for throwing himself entirely into new passions and ignoring everything else—earning him the nickname Tristukare Otoko. When Giuseppe one day falls in love with the balloon seller Petika, he does everything to get closer to her. However, Petika carries a deep sadness within her. Supported by his companion, the mouse Cielo, Giuseppe tries to alleviate Petika's worries with all his previous skills.

Wataru Takahashi is in charge of directing, while the screenplay is written by Naoyuki Miura. Shinji Arakawa handles the character design, and the animation is produced by Studio Shin-Ei Animation. The voice cast will be announced at a later date. However, the first video already features a musical scene with Giuseppe, while the teaser visual shows the first meeting between Giuseppe and Petika.
