After the success in the Sungard Mountains, the group encounters the labyrinthine guardian Sildonia. Kyle demonstrates unexpected knowledge about her identity as an artificial likeness of the Magic Queen and the circumvention of her traps. Sildonia confirms Kyle's time travel via "Perfect Reading" and cooperates by presenting herself to the others as an intelligent sword. With the recovered treasure, the group travels to the royal city of Malad. There, they acquire high-quality equipment – including dragonhide armor and offensive/defensive magi-stones – from an exclusive merchant, paid for with the Sungard gold.

In parallel, Kyle and Urza perform the planned "Pact of Binding" under the full moon to protect Urza's true name. A misunderstanding about ritual details leads to a confrontational scene, but the pact is completed. Urza remains with the group for safety reasons.

Subsequently, they travel to Archen, where Kyle uses Sildonia's supposed prophecy to mention the visit of Princess Milena. Kyle internally reveals her impending death in two days due to a Hydra assassination attempt – an event from his future. His plan: By saving her, he aims to deliberately build fame as a hero. He hints at Prince Carenas, Milena's half-brother and heir to the throne, as a potential beneficiary of the attack. The group prepares for the upcoming confrontation.
