TV-anime adaptation to "Kao ni denai kashiwada-san to kao ni deru oota-kun" officially confirmed

The manga "Kao ni Denai Kashiwada-san to Kao ni Deru Oota-kun" ("The Expressionless Kashiwada-san and the Expressive Oota-kun") by Fuyu Azuma is being adapted into a TV anime. Along with the announcement, the first images, a trailer, and details about the production team and cast were released.

The story revolves around Kashiwada, a middle school student whose face never reveals what she's really thinking, and her classmate Oota, whose emotions are always openly visible. The series depicts humorous everyday situations arising from the interplay between these contrasting characters.

The main cast includes Akane Fujita as Kashiwada and Kyohei Natsume as Oota. Supporting roles feature Yuya Hirose as Tadokoro and Sohei Horigane as Sata. Tomohiro Kamiya directs the series, while Michiko Yokote handles the script. Naoto Nakamura is in charge of character design and animation, with production by STUDIO POLON.

The first released key visual for the series shows Kashiwada and Oota under blooming cherry trees. Alongside this, a trailer was released, vividly showcasing the dynamic between the main characters.

Additionally, it was announced that there will be a presentation at the NBC Universal Entertainment Japan booth during AnimeJapan 2025 featuring Akane Fujita, Kyohei Natsume, Yuya Hirose, and Sohei Horigane. Visitors can also participate in a photo event. The event will be streamed live via ABEMA and the official NBCUniversal Anime/Music YouTube channel.
