Ahead of the upcoming broadcast of the second season of the TV animation series "Ao no Miburo" (known in English as "The Blue Miburo") with the subtitle "Serizawa Assassination Arc," a new key visual and a promotional video have been released.

The key visual shows seven members of the "Miburo" – the later Shinsengumi – with determined gazes, looking forward. It bears the poignant slogan: "Kill a comrade. For justice."

The promotional video begins with heartwarming scenes showing the close bond of the Miburo members following the events of the first season. However, the mood shifts and culminates in an emotional scene where Serizawa Kamo – one of the group's leaders – is seen with a pained expression.

The second season, "Serizawa Assassination Arc," continues the narrative. The plot revolves around the growing tensions within the Miburōshigumi (also known as Miburo), which later transitioned into the famous Shinsengumi. The conflict is ignited primarily by the figure of Serizawa Kamo, one of the original leaders. His increasingly violent and unpredictable behaviors, as well as power struggles within the group, lead to a deep division and a tragic conflict over differing notions of justice, which will culminate in an assassination attempt on Serizawa.

The series is based on the manga by Takeshi Yasuda and tells the story of the Shinsengumi from the perspective of the young, kind-hearted Chinuno Nio, who joins the group. The first season aired from October 2024 to March 2025.

The broadcast of the second season "Serizawa Assassination Arc" is scheduled to begin on December 20, 2025.
