The popular manga series Chuuzenji-sensei Mononoke Kōgi-roku: Sensei ga Nazo wo Toiteshimau kara by Aki Shimizu is set to receive a TV anime adaptation in 2025. A teaser visual and cast details have also been released.

The series is a spin-off of Natsuhiko Kyogoku’s Hyakki Yakō series and serves as a prequel. The story follows high school student Shiori Kusakabe, who encounters her new literature teacher, Akihiko Chuuzenji (also known as Kyogokudō), at her school. Together, they face various supernatural occurrences in this mysterious school tale. The manga was originally serialized in 2019 in Shonen Magazine Edge (Kodansha) and is currently being continued on Comic DAYS, where nine volumes have been released so far.

The anime is being produced by 100studio under the direction of Chihiro Kumano. Atsushi Oka is handling the script and series composition, while Masahiko Suzuki is in charge of character design. Further details have yet to be announced.

Reacting to the anime adaptation, Aki Shimizu expressed excitement: "An unexpected anime adaptation of Chuuzenji-sensei! I feel deeply honored and am very much looking forward to it as a viewer."
