The fantasy manga series "Skull Dragon's Precious Daughter" (Japanese: Hone Dragon no Manamusume) by Ichi Yukishiro is receiving a TV anime adaptation. A teaser visual was released for the announcement.

The story is a parenting fantasy that begins in the "Forest of Discards," a place where all unwanted things end up. There, the little girl Eve is abandoned and meets the old dragon Nem. Out of pity, the dragon takes her in. When Nem finally dies, Eve uses her magical power to revive him as a skeleton dragon. Together, they now embark on an adventure so that Eve can learn to control her abilities.

The manga artist Ichi Yukishiro was overwhelmed by the announcement: "When I received the news that my series would be adapted, I could hardly believe it and was stunned. It feels like my editor just told me yesterday that we should quietly continue working on the manga for now because the anime was still a long way off." She thanked the anime and manga team as well as the readers and is now very much looking forward to the finished work. To mark the announcement, she contributed a specially drawn illustration.

Studio Doga Kobo is responsible for the anime production. The director is Kuniyasu Nishina, who worked as an episode director on "Oshi no Ko," among other projects. Series composition is handled by Yuka Yamada ("Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid S"), while Tomoya Atsumi (key animator on "Demon Slayer") is in charge of character design. The background art is by Daiki Kuribayashi and Yuki Hatakeyama from Studio Kusanagi.

The manga by Ichi Yukishiro has been published since 2020 on the Mag Comi platform by Mag Garden and also appears in the magazine "Monthly Comic Garden." Six volumes have been released so far.
