The romantic comedy "Jishō Akuyaku Reijō na Konyakusha no Kansatsu Kiroku." (translated: Observations on My Self-Proclaimed Fiancée Who Thinks She’s a Villainess) is being adapted into a TV anime and is set to air in 2026. Alongside the announcement, a first teaser visual and key production details were released.

The series is based on the novel of the same name by Shiki and follows the unusual dynamic between the eccentric protagonist Bertia, who sees herself as a classic villainess from a fictional otome game, and the perfect crown prince Cecil. Instead of taking on the role of savior or beloved, Bertia decides to actively fight against the supposed fate as an "evil noblewoman" – with numerous dramatic and humorous misunderstandings. The story is told from Cecil’s perspective.

The anime is directed by Shunichi Yamamoto, with character designs by Miki Matsumoto, and Akiko Inoue handling series composition and scripts. The animation is produced by Studio Ashi Productions.

The literary source consists of two volumes, while the manga adaptation by Natsume Hasumi has grown to six volumes.

In addition to the announcement, author Shiki, illustrator Hasumi, and other staff members shared comments on the adaptation. All expressed their excitement about the anime adaptation and the lively portrayal of the strong-willed characters, especially the emotionally versatile Bertia.
