The start date for the TV anime adaptation of the light novel series "LV999 no Murabito" (The Villager of Level 999) has been set: Broadcasting begins on July 1, 2026, at 24:00 (JST) on TV Tokyo, followed by BS Fuji starting July 2. To coincide with this, a main promotional video and a new key visual have been released, offering the first comprehensive insights into the story and characters.

The story is set in the world "Earth Clear," where every person is assigned a fixed class at birth—from warrior to mage, down to the weakest of all professions: the villager. Protagonist Koji Kagami is one such villager, but contrary to all expectations, he has reached the maximum level of 999. Together with Alice, the daughter of the Demon King, and other companions, he confronts the conflicts between humans and demons.

The main roles are voiced by Satoshi Inomata as Koji Kagami and Nao Toyama as Alice. Other voice actors include Hiroya Egashira, Nobunaga Shimazaki, Manaka Iwami, Aoi Koga, Lynn, and Yuichiro Umehara.

The musical accompaniment has also been fully revealed: The opening theme "Not a Hero" is performed by singers Nakuru Aitsuki and Itsuki Natsume, both members of the group La prière. The ending theme is titled "HP" and is performed by Yukimura. In a statement, the artists emphasized that the songs are meant to convey strength and courage—the opening embodies the motto "Don't give up," while the ending tenderly tells a story of inner strength.

The anime is being produced under the direction of Yoshinobu Kasai at Studio Brain's Base. The screenplay is handled by Shinzo Fujita, and the character design is by Kentaro Matsumoto. The music is composed by Hiroshi Nakamura. The series is produced by Gree Entertainment in collaboration with Kadokawa.

Beyond the series, additional details have been announced: A Blu-ray box set containing the first six episodes will be released on October 28, 2026, featuring an exclusive short story by the author and a soundtrack. Additionally, a large-scale collaboration with 41 restaurants of the chain SANKO MARKETING FOODS, including branches of Yakiniku Banri and Kin no Kura, will begin on June 27. Selected stores will offer exclusive giveaways and special menus.

The "LV999 no Murabito" series originally began as a web novel on the platform Shōsetsuka ni Narō and was published as a light novel with illustrations by Fuumi starting in 2016. Publisher Kadokawa released a total of eight volumes. A manga adaptation by Kenichi Iwamoto has been serialized in the magazine Comp Ace since 2017 and currently spans 20 collected volumes. The total circulation of the series has exceeded 3.8 million copies.

Internationally, the anime will be streamed by Crunchyroll, among others. In Japan, the series will also be available as an exclusive stream on the platforms ABEMA and DMM TV—the first episode will be shown simultaneously with the TV broadcast, with all subsequent episodes available one week in advance.
