Twins Hina Hima-TV anime with "Supportive AI" concept starts in March

The new original anime series Twins Hina Hima will premiere on March 29 on MBS. The production utilizes an innovative application of "Supportive AI"—a technology that aids creative processes without replacing human authorship. Based on guidelines from Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry and legal consultations, particular emphasis was placed on adhering to copyright standards.

At the heart of the story are twin sisters Himari (voiced by Sae Hiratsuka) and Hinana (Yurie Igoma), ambitious content creators trying to make it big with viral videos on TikTok and other platforms. However, when they encounter mysterious "anomalies" during filming, they are drawn into a surreal and absurd parallel world. The released teaser video offers a first glimpse of the blend of everyday comedy and psychedelic visuals.

The series marks the directorial debut of Kurenai Nakano, supported by scriptwriter Yu Shinada (Hakumei to Mikochi) and character designer Takumi Yokota (Love Live! Nijigasaki). The opening and ending themes—Ogyumento DEi! (performed by the lead actresses) and 6:00 PM (CHiCO)—highlight the story's lively tone.

Starting March 30, the series will be available on platforms such as d-Anime Store, ABEMA, and Prime Video. An official key visual showcases the twins against a backdrop of digital glitch effects and vivid color gradients—a visual nod to the thematic connection between social media fascination and technological ambivalence.
