The series expansion brings new faces to the cast, including Masaya Matsukaze as Aslan, Atsushi Tamaru as Souther, Natsumi Hioka as Zenobia, and Nobuhiko Okamoto as Paolo. Takuma Terashima, who has previously composed the theme songs for the series, will reprise his role as Satoru. Existing characters like Rimuru, Great Sage, and Ranga will continue to be voiced by their original actors.

Director Atsushi Nakayama returns, while Toshizo Nemoto is in charge of the series design. Other team members include Ryōma Ebata for character design and Takahiro Kishida for monster design. Studio Naya is responsible for the backgrounds, and Hiroshi Satō will capture the visuals as cinematographer. The anime's theme song will be sung by Miho Okasaki, who voices Rimuru.

The new series "Coleus' Dream" was originally a text story included with the Blu-ray Disc of the anime's second season and later served as the main inspiration for the film "Scarlet Bond."
