For the upcoming movie "My Hero Academia THE MOVIE: Your Next," based on Kohei Horikoshi's original work, the new theme song "Homunculus" by Vaundy has been announced. At the same time, a trailer featuring the new song has been released.
Vaundy reflected on the creation of the theme song and explained: "I wrote the song while thinking about what my own 'Quirk' is. In doing so, I tried to support the characters of My Hero Academia and infused my answer into the song." As a passionate fan of the series, he added: "This song is a significant milestone in my musical career." The album cover, featuring a dynamic drawing of Deku, was designed by Yuki Hayashi, who serves as the character designer and chief animation director for the film.
The trailer also introduces two new characters from the movie, Julio and Anna. In one scene, Julio says: "You don’t know what the young lady’s 'Quirk' is," while Anna, who possesses a special Quirk, scatters flower petals. The second part of the trailer showcases thrilling action scenes with Class 1-A and pro heroes, accompanied by the new theme song.
The fourth film in the series, "My Hero Academia THE MOVIE: Your Next," will be released on August 2. The story is completely original and was overseen by Horikoshi himself, who also contributed to the character designs.
