The official spin-off of Kohei Horikoshi's My Hero Academia series, Vigilante: My Hero Academia Illegals, is being adapted into an anime and will air starting April 2025. A so-called "Super Teaser Visual" has been released, showing the protagonist standing on a building and gazing into the brightly lit night city.

The story of Vigilante takes place several years before the events of the main series and sheds light on the lives of illegal heroes who operate outside the law. These so-called vigilantes save people, even if they receive no recognition for it. The spin-off was written by Hideyuki Furuhashi and illustrated by Betten Court. The series was published on Shonen Jump+ between 2017 and 2022 and comprises a total of 15 collected volumes.

In addition to the visual, a teaser trailer was presented. It features the main characters of the Vigilante story as well as familiar heroes from My Hero Academia. The narration is provided by Daiki Yamashita, the voice actor for Deku.

The key staff of the anime production have also been announced: Kenichi Suzuki is directing, Takahiko Yoshida is in charge of character design, and Yuki Hayashi, who previously composed the music for My Hero Academia, is once again responsible for the soundtrack. The animation is produced by Studio Bones, known for their work on the main series.
