Watashi no Shiawase na Kekkon (My Happy Marriage) – New anime production announced

The successful anime adaptation of Watashi no Shiawase na Kekkon is getting a sequel. To celebrate this announcement, a new key visual and a special PV have been released, honoring the emotional journey of the series.

The key visual features Miyo Saimori, voiced by Reina Ueda, in a tender embrace with Kiyoka Kudou (voice: Kaito Ishikawa) – a symbol of their growing bond and the thematic core of the series. The commemorative PV looks back on key moments from the first season, highlighting the characters' development from their bleak beginnings to hope and self-determination.

Akumi Agematsu, author of the original novel series, sent a personal message to fans, calling the sequel a "fulfillment of a shared dream." Tsukihiko Tsukiho, illustrator of the novel edition, and Rito Kōsaka, artist of the manga adaptation, contributed exclusive finale illustrations capturing Miyo's transformation and the series' atmospheric aesthetic.

The story follows Miyo, who grows up in a family dominated by supernatural abilities but possesses no talents of her own, suffering abuse from her stepmother and stepsister. Her fate changes when she is sent into an arranged marriage with the feared Kiyoka – the beginning of a "Japanese Cinderella" tale blending historical settings with fantasy elements.
