The official website for the anime adaptation of Hiroaki Samura's Wave, Listen to Me! (Nami yo Kiite Kure) manga released the first teaser for the series. The video previews the anime's opening song "aranami" by the duo tacica and also reveals the premiere date of April 3.

Kodansha Comics has licensed the manga and describes the story:

The stage is Sapporo, Hokkaido. One night, our heroine Minare Koda pours out her inconsolable troubles to a radio station employee she meets while drinking one evening. The next day, she hears a recording of her pitiful mutterings being played live over the air. Minare storms into the station in a rage, only to be tricked by the station director into an impromptu talk show where he explains her tough dialogue. With just one recording, the many eccentric facets of Minare's life begin to pull in all directions as she falls deeper and deeper into the world of radio.
