Fans of the Yuri manga "Whisper Me a Love Song" (Sasayaku yō ni Koi wo Utau) will be happy to hear that the series will receive an anime adaptation. The publisher Ichijinsha confirmed the news on Friday, and to celebrate the occasion, the manga's author, Eku Takeshima, created an illustration in honor of the series.

The main voice actors and technical staff have already been announced. Hana Shimano will voice the role of Himari Kino, and Asami Seto will voice the role of Yori Asanagi. Xin Ya Cai will direct the anime, which is being produced by Cloud Hearts Studio and supervised by Yokohama Animation Lab. Hiroki Uchida is in charge of the script, and Minami Yoshida is responsible for the character design.

Takeshima began serializing "Whisper Me a Love Song" in Ichijinsha's Comic Yuri Hime magazine in 2019. The seventh compiled volume of the manga will be released in Japan on January 18.

The story follows Himari, a new high school student who falls in love with her senpai Yori after hearing her band perform on the first day of school. She tells Yori she loves her, and to her surprise, Yori replies that she loves her too. But when Himari realizes that she and her senpai feel two different kinds of love, she begins to wonder what "love" truly means.
