Episode 3 begins with the main character, Raeliana McMillan, entering the magnificent carriage of the Duke. Her sister Rose bids her farewell and advises her to take care of herself. Raeliana is introduced to Gideon Jura, the butler of the household, and learns from him about the rich history of the house, which she finds quite overwhelming.

Raeliana is led to her new room and is surprised to find the Duke, her fiancé, in her quarters. This leads to a tense conversation about their arranged marriage. The Duke, whose name is Noah, informs her about two other people who are aware of their contractual engagement: Master Taylor, whom Raeliana is already familiar with, and another unnamed person, whom Noah hints she will meet soon.

Raeliana and Noah establish certain rules for their cohabitation, such as addressing each other by their first names and respecting Raeliana's privacy. Noah agrees to these conditions before leaving the room, assuring her that she can turn to him if she needs anything.

The next day, Raeliana begins her bridal training, where she learns social etiquette, embroidery, and dancing. Despite the initial difficulties, she manages well due to her upbringing in a noble family. However, the frequent and unwelcome visits of the Duke to her room frustrate her.

During one of these visits, Noah informs Raeliana about an upcoming ball, to which he will bring her as his fiancée. He also plans to announce their engagement at this event. Despite her shock, Raeliana agrees to attend the ball after learning that their engagement celebration is scheduled for the following week.

Noah introduces Raeliana to Nick Maddox, an extravagant magician who is to make her look stunning for the ball. Nick gives Raeliana a new makeover and transforms her into a breathtaking beauty. He also teaches her the smiles popular in high society, including the Noah-Wynknight smile and the Vivian-Shamal smile, before creating a unique smile for Raeliana, which he calls the Nick-Maddox smile.

Finally, Raeliana is ready for the ball and goes to Noah in his study. When Noah sees her, he is left speechless by her transformation, leading Raeliana to mistakenly believe he is being snippy.
