Episode 4 begins with a grand gathering where everyone seems to be discussing the engagement of Raeliana McMillan and Duke Wynknight. Raeliana feels both flattered and stressed by all the attention and meets Marquess Eriteal and his young wife, who are among the guests. Throughout the meeting, Raeliana is closely guarded by Adam.

Raeliana notices Lady Vivian Shamal, an important figure from the novel in which Raeliana lives, and she fears becoming a target as Duke Wynknight's fiancée. Vivian Shamal is known as the villainess in the novel, which unsettles Raeliana, who feels burdened by the thought of having to deal with another antagonist alongside Duke Wynknight.

During the event, Duke Wynknight tasks Raeliana with securing an invitation to an exclusive group of high-ranking noble wives, whose conversations are rumored to have significant influence over the kingdom. Despite her initial hesitation, she agrees but makes it clear that the duke owes her a favor.

As she moves through the gathering, she spills a drink on herself, giving her an opportunity to step away from the crowd and speak with the wife of Marquess Eriteal, Freese, who is also a member of the exclusive group the duke mentioned earlier. During this encounter, Raeliana seizes the chance to subtly express her interest in joining the group, prompting Freese to invite her.

Just as she is feeling victorious about her success, there is a sudden commotion suggesting a fire in the building. Raeliana gasps for air and, at the end of the episode, calls out for the duke as the hall fills with smoke.
