The manga series WIND BREAKER by Satoru Nii will be released as a live-action film in December. First film sequences as well as stills from the production have now been released.
The filming took place entirely in Okinawa between February and April of this year. A large-scale open-air set was created, for which a local shopping street was rented and extensively redesigned. This serves as the backdrop for the fictional "East Wind Shopping Street" from the story.
The first released images show, among other things, the six main characters of the "Bofurin" group. The short film glimpses contain dynamic fight sequences.
Responsible for the direction is Kentaro Hagiwara, known for works such as "Blue Period". The screenplay was written by Yosuke Masaike, awarded for "Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken!". Both Hagiwara and Masaike, as well as producer Yoshitaka Kamo, have commented on the project with statements.
