"Wistoria: Wand and Sword" Season 2: New PV Announces Start of the Tower Arc

A new promotional video has been released for the second season of the anime series "Wistoria: Wand and Sword" (Japanese original title: "Tsue to Tsurugi no Wistoria"), marking the beginning of a new story arc. The trailer, titled "New Chapter PV," shows protagonists Will and Elpharia fighting during the "Terminaria" festival. It also hints that Will and his friends, after graduating from the magic academy, will finally set out for the eponymous tower. The new story arc is set to begin with the 18th overall episode, airing on May 17.

Concurrently with the broadcast, a Blu-ray release of the second season has been announced. The first volume is scheduled for release on August 26, and the second volume on November 27. The packaging will include a booklet containing, among other things, storyboards by chief director Tatsuya Yoshihara, background materials on the production, and a short story by author Fujino Omori. Based on this short story, a drama CD will also be included. The artwork for the Blu-ray box is by manga artist Toshi Aoi, while character designer Sayaka Ono is responsible for the cover illustrations.

"Wistoria: Wand and Sword" is set in a world where magic is the highest good. The protagonist Will Serfort is ostracized at the magic academy due to his lack of magical abilities and instead fights with a sword to fulfill his promise and become a "Magia Vander"—one of the most powerful mages at the top of the tower. The second season is currently airing every Sunday on Japanese television and is simultaneously available on the streaming service Crunchyroll with German subtitles.
