Crunchyroll released a first English-subtitled trailer for the anime adaptation of Kei Ii's Woodpecker Detective's Office (Kitsutsuki Tantei-Dokoro) mystery novel. The video previews Makoto Furukawa's opening theme song "Honjitsu mo Makoto ni Seiten Nari."
The novel's story is set in 1909 during Japan's Meiji era and focuses on fictionalized versions of the real-life poet Takuboku Ishikawa and the real-life linguist Kyōsuke Kindaichi, who were acquaintances in real life. In the novel, Takuboku runs a private detective agency to support his family. The two begin investigating a case involving alleged ghost sightings in the Asakusa Jūnikai building, also known as Ryōunkai.
