At the beginning of the episode, we see Akane questioning her feelings for Yamada after the school festival where Yamada expressed his admiration for her. She dismisses the idea of having romantic feelings for him because she associates it with heartbreak. However, her emotional turmoil escalates, causing her to become physically ill due to neglecting her self-care.

Meanwhile, Yamada, influenced by a comment from Tsubaki, another player in the game, reflects on his feelings for Akane. He recalls their shared moments, especially Akane's silly and endearing ones. He admits that he sees Akane as an ideal in his life, but he seems to struggle with his emotions, much like Akane.

Despite her illness, Akane agrees to help a new guild member, who later turns out to be Tsubaki. Her helpful and kind nature extends to her interactions in real life, where she discusses a situation with Runa, a young girl grappling with the idea of another person joining their friend group.

Akane's chronic neglect of her own needs becomes evident when she agrees to take on an extra shift at work despite her poor health. This neglect culminates in her collapsing at the end of the episode due to exhaustion and illness. In her delirium, she imagines Yamada rescuing her, further confusing her about her feelings for him.
