An adaptation of the manga "Yomi no Tsugai" by Hiromu Arakawa into an anime series has been confirmed. Production is set to begin in April 2026 and will run over two connected parts. A first visual teaser has been released.

The announcement was made during the New York Comic Con 2025 as part of a presentation by Crunchyroll. The released short film shows scenes from the plot in which the protagonist Yuru is unexpectedly drawn from his peaceful mountain life into warlike conflicts.

The story presents a battle fantasy centered around the siblings Yuru and Asa, who were born as twins in a remote Japanese mountain region, separating night and day from each other. The plot follows their destiny, as they are prophesied to possess a world-shaking power, and shows their struggle against adverse circumstances together with mysterious beings.

The literary source is currently being published in the Monthly Shōnen Gangan by Square Enix. For the voice acting of the anime adaptation, Ono Kenshō as Yuru and Miyamoto Yume as Asa have been secured.
