The twelfth and final episode of the first season of "Yoroi Shin Den Samurai Trooper" delivered a major surprise appearance on Tuesday: the original Samurai Troopers from the classic late-80s series returned. At the same time, the creators announced that the second season will start in July and released a new trailer.

In the aired episode, Kai, the wearer of the burning armor, and Ryo Sanada, the leader of the first generation, confront the antagonist Ramaga. When the situation becomes dire for Kai and his allies, the four other original heroes – aided by Byakuen – rush to their aid.

This appearance also officially confirmed the voice actors for the original characters. Hirofumi Nojima voices Toma Hashiba, Ryōtarō Okiayu lends his voice to Seiji Date, Nozomu Sasaki voices Shin Mouri, and Tomohiro Nishimura takes on the role of Shu Layfang. Takeshi Kusao continues to voice Ryo Sanada. The four voice actors shared comments full of nostalgia and anticipation. Nojima explained that the pressure and responsibility for the iconic role were great, but thanks to the support of his experienced colleagues, he was able to meet this challenge. Okiayu, in turn, expressed his excitement about now being part of the new sequel as well and jokingly expressed hope for a model kit series of the new armors.

To celebrate the season's end, a special promotional video for the second season was also released, which will air and be available on streaming services in July. Additionally, new artwork by main character designer Yūhei Murota and a design of the "Kikoutei" armor were released.

"Yoroi Shin Den Samurai Trooper" is the official sequel to the legendary series "Yoroiden Samurai Trooper" (known in the West as "Ronin Warriors") by Sunrise from 1988/1989. The story is set in the present day and follows a new generation of warriors who stand against the forces of the demon world.
