"Yowayowa Sensei": Daoko Sings Opening, Cast Sings Ending in New Trailer

For the upcoming anime adaptation of the romantic comedy "Yowayowa Sensei" by Kamio Fukuchi, a new main trailer and the titles and performers of the theme songs have been released.

As revealed in a new promotional video, the opening theme titled "COMIT COMET" will be performed by singer and rapper Daoko. The song's composition and arrangement are by Hideya Kojima, and it will be available digitally from April 12. Daoko herself expressed her enthusiasm for the main character: "When I read the original manga for the song's production, I was completely captivated by the cuteness and sincerity of Yowayowa Sensei. I wanted to compare that heart-pounding feeling to the stars and, together with Hideya Kojima, did my best to express it as a cheerful pop song."

The ending theme "Yowayowa Tsuyotsuyo Minimini Kowakowa" will be sung by the three voice actresses of the female main characters: Marika Kano (Hiyori Hiwamura), Yurie Igoma (Mizuki Kurumayashi), and Yu Sasahara (Yuki Yukishita). They also shared comments about the song. Marika Kano, the voice of "Yowayowa Sensei" Hiyori, revealed it was challenging that her character, who can barely say anything other than "henyo~," had to sing this song. Yurie Igoma described the song as very entertaining, as she was able to fully channel her character Mizuki's power and positivity into the singing. Yu Sasahara, in turn, enjoyed the fun during the recording, where they were allowed to record various versions.

The new trailer, featuring excerpts from both songs, is available on the anime's official YouTube channel.

Additionally, on March 22, there will be a live stream titled "Intensive Spring Lesson Just Before the Broadcast." It will feature the three student voice actresses as well as Sho Hatano, the voice of Akihito Abikura.

The broadcast of "Yowayowa Sensei" begins in Japan on April 11, 2026. The anime will air on AT-X, Tokyo MX, and BS11, among others. A rapid online release is planned for the platforms AnimeFesta, d Anime Store, and DMM TV. Internationally, the streaming service HIDIVE will show the series in the United States and the United Kingdom, among other regions.

The story revolves around the new English teacher Hiyori Hiwamura. She is shy, has a soft voice, and little physical stamina—in short, she is "yowayowa" (weak). Ironically, her students mistakenly fear her as the terrifying "Kowakowa Sensei" (fear-inducing teacher), rumored to curse anyone who angers her. Only her student Akihito Abikura recognizes her true, gentle nature and begins to support her.

The anime production is by Studio Brain's Base under the direction of Hiroshi Ishiodori. The series composition is handled by Yoshifumi Fukushima, and character design by Naoki Aisaka. The original manga by Kamio Fukuchi has been serialized in Kodansha's "Weekly Shonen Magazine" since November 2022.
