Yūsha no Kuzu: Anime Adaptation with First Production Details

The series "Yūsha no Kuzu" (The Trash of the Hero) by Nakashima from the Rocket Shōkai series is receiving an anime television series adaptation. The broadcast will begin in January 2026 on the Japanese television network Nippon TV. A teaser with scenes from the production offers first insights.

The story presents an action scenario with supernatural elements in the underground of 21st century Tokyo. The plot begins when the high school student Shiromine, who calls herself an apprentice, unexpectedly appears before the freelance hero Yashiro. This incident draws Yashiro into various incidents.

Ushiro commented on the planned adaptation and emphasized how important preserving the unique atmosphere of the original work and portraying the distinctive characters is to him. The animation work is, as already known, being handled by OLM.

The plot is based on a manga adaptation by Nakashima of a novel from the Rocket Shōkai series. The series is published in the publication Comic Border.

The production combines elements of the action genre with supernatural abilities and presents an unconventional hero story in an urban setting.
