The voice cast for the TV anime adaptation of "The Greatest Magicmaster's Retirement Plan" (Japanese: "Saikyo Mahoushi no Inton Keikaku") continues to take shape: Voice actress and singer Yui Ogura will take on the role of Loki Leevahl. As the production team announced on August 26, 2026, the first character key visual of the character was released to coincide with the cast reveal.

Loki is a military mage who transfers to the Second Magic Academy as the partner of the protagonist Alus Reigin. She is a user of lightning magic, has been trained by the military since childhood, and achieved 157th place in the official ranking as a mage. Because Alus once saved her life, she has sworn to serve him with body and soul; the official character description portrays her as a serious and devoted young woman. The new key visual shows Loki in front of the arena for simulated battles at the Second Magic Academy, holding a knife-shaped mage weapon of the "AWR" type. According to the official description, her combat stance is meant to remind viewers less of a student and more of a mage with extensive practical experience.

Ogura, known among other roles for Cure Étoile from "Hugtto! Precure" and Manhattan Cafe from "Uma Musume Pretty Derby," commented: "Loki is a mage who already possesses considerable skill at a young age and stands by Alus as his partner. When voicing her, it was important to me to express the deep trust and respect she has for him, as well as the sincere feelings behind them." She invited the audience to follow the relationship between the two and to look forward to the powerful battle scenes.

In connection with the announcement, a follow-and-repost campaign is also running on the anime's official X channel (@saikyo_mahoushi), in which three winners can receive a signboard card hand-signed by Yui Ogura.

The series is based on the light novel series written by Izushiro and illustrated by Ruria Miyuki, published under Hobby Japan's HJ Bunko label, which now comprises 20 volumes and has surpassed the mark of one million copies sold. The adaptation was officially announced in June 2026; the broadcast is planned for 2027 in the "Agaru Anime" slot of the CBC/TBS network with 28 affiliated stations. Yuto Uemura voices the main character Alus Reigin. Direction is by Yusuke Suzuki, series composition by Gigaemon Ichikawa, character design by Yuki Kitajima; animation production is handled by Studio Hotline.

The story is set in a world where humanity has been fighting for survival against supernatural beings called Fiends for about a hundred years. Alus, who is considered the strongest mage of humanity and leads the ranking of more than 100,000 mages, submits his request to retire from military service at the age of 16. But instead of the peaceful life he hoped for, he is given a different task: He is to attend a magic academy under a secret identity and train the next generation – which inevitably draws him into new conflicts. The source material first appeared as a web novel on the platform Shōsetsuka ni Narō starting in 2015 and has been published as a light novel since 2017. A manga adaptation by Karu Yoneshiro titled "The Alternative" was published by Square Enix until 2023 and comprises ten volumes; another adaptation called "Zero -Hajimari no Hishiroku-" is scheduled to launch in the winter.
