“Zegapain STA” will be released in Japanese cinemas in summer 2024

The TV anime "Zegapain" is returning with a new story in the form of "Zegapain STA," which is set to hit Japanese theaters in summer 2024. The new installment continues the saga and promises an expansion of the story.

Titled "Zegapain STA," the upcoming film will delve into the legacy of the original series and explore new dimensions and adventures. A teaser video released alongside the announcement features Haru Velt, voiced by Kengo Kawanishi, hinting at the exciting developments to come.

The cast of the original "Zegapain" series will reprise their roles: Shintaro Asanuma returns as Sogoru Kyo, Kana Hanazawa as Ryoko Kaminagi, Ayako Kawasumi as Shizuno Misaki, and Romi Park as Mao Lu-Shen. The creative team behind this project includes the original creators Hajime Yatate and Takayuki Ito, with Masami Shimoda once again directing. The screenplay is written by Katsuhiko Takayama.

"Zegapain," which aired from April to September 2006, followed the life of ordinary high school student Sogoru Kyo, who gets drawn into a world of giant robot battles after meeting the mysterious transfer student Shizuno Misaki.
