In "Zom 100 - Zombie ni Naru made ni Shitai 100 no Koto Episode 5," Akira is determined to become a superhero, inspired by his childhood dreams. He recalls a time when he wanted to fight dangers and rescue people in need without expecting any reward. To this end, he puts on a shark suit, a diving suit meant to protect him from shark bites, believing it will make him invulnerable to zombie bites as well.



Akira’s friend Kencho is skeptical but supports him in his endeavor. The two find themselves in an aquarium that seems like a safe refuge from the zombies. However, they soon realize that even the aquarium isn’t safe, as a zombified shark with human legs attacks the survivors. In his shark suit, Akira tries to fend off the creature, but the suit only protects him from bites, not the force of the attacks.



Amid the chaos, Akira encounters a woman he had previously met in a supermarket. She is a risk analyst and questions Akira’s motives for wanting to be a hero, suggesting he might be doing it out of a sense of inferiority. Despite her skepticism, Akira remains determined to prove himself.



In a desperate attempt to defeat the zombie shark, Akira and Kencho devise a plan to electrocute it. Using a battery, they target the shark’s ampullae of Lorenzini, a sensory organ that detects electrical charges. The plan succeeds, and the shark is neutralized.



After the ordeal, the risk analyst, Shizuka Mikazuki, shares her contact details with Akira, hinting at a possible future connection. The episode ends with Akira and Kencho deciding to leave Tokyo and head to Gunma, hoping to find safety—and perhaps more adventures—there.
