The episode of "Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead" Episode 7 begins with a flashback to the life of the protagonist Akira Tendo before the zombie outbreak, where he worked under a demanding and demeaning boss named Kosugi. The work environment is toxic, and Akira is clearly unhappy.

The episode then shifts to the present, where Akira and his friends are part of a team gathering supplies. They are under the leadership of Kosugi, who has established himself as a leader even in the post-apocalyptic world. Akira considers whether he should stay with Kosugi's group for safety reasons, despite being unhappy about it.

Meanwhile, a new character, Shizuka, is introduced. She is a young woman who has lived under the thumb of her controlling father. Her backstory reveals a life of emotional manipulation and the suppression of her own desires to meet her father's expectations. She finds solace in a stray dog she names Roo, but her father has it euthanized, further tightening his control over her life.

Back in the present, the team gathering supplies returns to their base, which is under attack by zombies. In the ensuing chaos, Akira takes command and devises a plan to save everyone, including Kosugi. This act of bravery and leadership ultimately prompts Akira to stand up to Kosugi and leave his group, taking his friends with him.

Shizuka, inspired by Akira's actions, also decides to break free from her father's control. She joins Akira and his friends as they set out to find their own path in this new world. In doing so, she emphasizes the importance of freedom and pursuing personal happiness over societal expectations and norms.
