Second season of the High Card anime will premiere in January 2024 with an accompanying stage play

The second season of the poker anime "High Card" will premiere in January 2024, as announced by the anime's staff. At the same time, the first promotional video for the upcoming season was released. Additionally, it is expected that a stage adaptation will be released alongside the anime's second season as part of the High Card multimedia project.



Meanwhile, the second novel of the project, titled HIGH CARD-♧3Green Green&♡5Calories High, is set to be serialized in the Monthly Newtype magazine starting September 8.

As for the anime's cast, all main characters will be reprised by their original voice actors. These include Gen Sato as Finn Oldman, Toshiki Masuda as Chris Redgrave, Haruka Shiraishi as Wendy Satō, and several other talented performers.

The plot of the series revolves around a young orphan boy named Finn, who enters a casino to save his orphanage from closure. Unknowingly, he stumbles into a chaotic scene triggered by a man's "lucky card." As Finn learns more about the incident, he discovers a world where 52 X-playing cards have the power to grant their owners superhuman abilities.

These cards allow individuals to harness the "Buddy" power within themselves. A secret group called High Card, employed by the luxury car manufacturer Pinochle, is tasked with collecting these scattered cards, leading to Finn being recruited as the fifth member of this group. However, the rival car manufacturer Who's Who and the infamous mafia family Klondikes pose major obstacles to their mission.
