The anime series "Rail Romanesque" from the digital novel brand Lose has confirmed that a second season is in the works. The release date for this new series has been set for October, with the broadcast in Japan airing on the TOKYO MX channel. Additionally, the first season of the anime will be re-aired on the same channel starting today.

The second season, aptly titled Rail Romanesque 2, will continue the trend of the first season and showcase a series of unique Railords.

There are some changes in the production staff for the second season. Michiru Ebira will take over the director's chair at Yokohama Animation Lab. The character design will now be led by Tensho Sato, and the art director is Kō Ogata. Other notable names include Yūsei Kashima (color design), Ryohei Miyasaka (cinematographer), and Kisuke Koizumi (sound director).

At the same time, Lose also announced a new game titled Rail Romanesque Origin. This is a reimagining of the original Maitetsu game, expanded with the narrative and worldview of Rail Romanesque.

The original Rail Romanesque anime, which debuted in October 2020, consisted of twelve five-minute episodes.

The story revolves around an alternate reality in Japan where railways are an important form of travel and transportation. They were paired with humanoid modules known as "Railords." The story begins with the protagonist Sotetsu's endeavor to save his adoptive town from water pollution, reviving a decommissioned Railord named "Hachiroku."
