Tomonori Kogawa is a Japanese animator, character designer, and director born on January 3, 1950, in Engaru, Hokkaidō. He is recognized for his extensive work in the anime industry, particularly during the 1980s in collaboration with the noted studio Sunrise.
As an original creator, Kogawa is credited for the 1985 original video animation Greed. For this project, he served in multiple key creative roles, including original creator, director, screenplay writer, storyboard artist, character designer, and animation director. He also acted as the original creator for another original video animation, Cool Cool Bye, released in 1986, where he again took on the duties of director, scriptwriter, character designer, and animation director.
His career is defined by his work as a character designer and animation director on numerous prominent anime series and films.
