Stefanella Marrama is an established Italian voice actress and dubbing director, born in Rome on December 28, 1950. She began her artistic career after graduating from the National Academy of Dramatic Arts Silvio D'Amico in Rome, initially working in theatre. Her early stage work included performances with prominent companies such as the Teatro Greco di Siracusa and the Compagnia di Peppino De Filippo, and in 1979 she received the Premio Gino Cervi as best emerging theatre actress. During this period, she also co-founded the theatre company Napolinova ’77 with actor Marco Mete, whom she later married.

Marrama entered the world of dubbing in 1982, initially seeking it as a complement to her theatre work. Her voice became widely recognized through long-running roles in television, most notably as the Italian voice of Kelly Capwell in the soap opera Santa Barbara, which she dubbed for a decade from its Italian debut in 1989. Over the years, she has been the regular Italian voice for actresses including Robin Wright, Julianne Moore, Joan Cusack, and Mary Steenburgen. Her live-action dubbing credits also include Kristanna Loken as the Terminatrix in Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines and Mary Steenburgen as Clara Clayton in Back to the Future Part III.

In the realm of animation, Marrama has an extensive filmography. Her anime voice roles are well-documented and include the character Louise in the series Fist of the North Star 2. Other notable anime credits include Anastasia in Cowboy Bebop, Mrs. Uchiyamada in Great Teacher Onizuka, Reki in Orphen, the mother of Alice in Pet Shop of Horrors, the mother in the Violence Jack OVA series, and Muto in Dai-Guard. She has also voiced characters in western animation, such as Wanda in the Hotel Transylvania film series, Gina Dupain in Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir, Liane Cartman in the early seasons of South Park, and Betty DeVille in the second Italian dub of Rugrats. She provided the spoken voice for Queen Uberta in The Swan Princess, with the singing voice for the same character performed by Maria Cristina Brancucci.

Since 2001, Marrama has increasingly focused on dubbing direction and dialogue adaptation, supervising Italian versions for numerous series and films for networks and platforms such as Fox, Disney Channel, Rai, and Netflix. Her directorial work includes series like Castle, Prison Break, Iron Fist, and several titles in the Star Trek franchise, including Star Trek: Picard and the animated series Star Trek: Lower Decks. Her work has been recognized with industry awards, including the Romics Award for Best Direction of an Animated Series and the Audience Award at the National Dubbing Festival Le Voci del Cinema for the film Everything, Everything.

She is the mother of voice actors Andrea Mete and Federica Mete.
