Keiroku Seki

Keiroku Seki was a Japanese comedian, actor, and voice actor. He was born on March 25, 1928, in Ashikaga City, Tochigi Prefecture. His real name was Keiji Sekiya. After serving as an army special cadet, he graduated from Hosei University in 1951.

Seki's career included significant voice acting roles, particularly during the 1960s. He is confirmed to have voiced the character Tsururi Haku or Dr. Tsururi in the 1968 television anime series Fight Da!! Pyuta. His involvement with the series extended to performing in its insert song. Another notable voice role from this period was providing the Japanese voice for the character Coil Man in the Japanese dub of the American animated series The Impossibles.

Beyond animation, Seki had a substantial career as a live-action actor. He appeared in numerous films and television series from the 1960s through the 1990s. He had a recurring role as a character named Ponshu in the long-running and highly popular Otoko wa Tsurai yo (It's Tough Being a Man) film series, appearing in installments such as Tora-san's Island Encounter in 1985 and Tora-san Confesses in 1991. His other live-action credits include the television series Ultraman 80, where he played the Monster Task Force Captain, and a role in the 1968 film Tarekomi. In the tokusatsu genre, he also portrayed the human form of the villain Cash Beast in an episode of Uchuu Keiji Sharivan.

Keiroku Seki passed away on August 23, 2006, at the age of 78.
