Sano is best known as the original creator of the manga series Iketeru Futari (イケてる2人). The series was serialized in Shōnen Gahōsha's Young King Comics magazine from 1997 to 2010 and was compiled into a total of thirty-three tankobon volumes. The story is a romantic comedy that follows the relationship between a young man named Koji Sakuragi and the object of his affection, a girl named Sayuki Kakinoki, and is noted for its significant amount of fan service. The manga was adapted into an anime television series by the studio J.C.Staff, which aired on the Tokyo Broadcasting System (TBS) in February 1999, comprising sixteen short episodes. In addition to Iketeru Futari, another of Sano's manga works, Usagi-chan de Cue!!, was also adapted into an anime. He sometimes works under the pseudonym Karamaru Tsutaya. It is important to note that there are several other professionals in the Japanese animation and manga industry with the same name, including an animator and director born in 1967 known for works such as Tower of God and the Japanese adaptation of Rick and Morty, as well as other manga artists creating different genres.
