Diane Michelle

Description
Diane Michelle is an American voice actress with a career spanning from the early 1980s to the present, known for her extensive work in animation, video games, and commercial voice-overs. A Southern California native and graduate of the University of California, Santa Barbara, she has built a reputation for creating off-beat character voices and is also an expert in dialects and celebrity impersonations.

In the realm of anime dubbing, Michelle has contributed to several notable English-language adaptations. She is confirmed in the role of The Weather Lady in the television series Tokyo Pig. Her firsthand account of working on this show highlights the creative challenges of adapting Japanese anime for a Western audience, where she and the team worked to impose a faster-paced, joke-heavy American sensibility onto the existing animation. She also voiced the character Sanae Araki in the anime series Kaze no Yojimbo. Her involvement with this series extended to providing additional voices for minor characters such as a kiosk saleswoman.

Beyond these two series, Michelle's anime voice acting credits are diverse. She provided the voice for the titular character, Shin-chan Nohara, in the Phuuz English dub of Crayon Shin-chan. Her work with Streamline Pictures, a pioneering company in anime localization, includes roles in several classic films: she voiced Ket's mother, Miss Dora, and provided additional voices in Kiki's Delivery Service, and played Rita in Golgo 13: The Professional. Other anime credits include roles in Crying Freeman, Magical Girl Pretty Sammy (where she also performed theme songs), and the U.S. production of Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi.

While Michelle's anime work is a significant part of her career, she is perhaps most widely recognized for her mainstream voice roles. She is famous for being the singing voice of Daisy Duck in numerous Disney projects from the 1990s onward, including Mickey Mouse Works and Mickey's Once Upon a Christmas. Her extensive television credits include voices on long-running series such as The Simpsons and The West Wing. She is also a prolific voice in video games, with notable performances including Natalya and various monsters in Diablo II, multiple characters in the Mass Effect series, and roles in the Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds games.

In addition to her performance work, Michelle is a voice teacher and a performer in other mediums. She formed a singing group called The Goils in 1984, which toured Japan and performed in Las Vegas, and she launched a one-woman show in Los Angeles in 2002. She is also a painter and an accomplished guitarist.
