The musician and actor MIYAVI entered the field of anime voice acting in 2021. Known professionally as MIYAVI, he is a renowned Japanese guitarist, singer-songwriter, and record producer who has also built a career in film, with roles in Hollywood productions such as Unbroken and Maleficent: Mistress of Evil.

MIYAVI made his voice acting debut in the 2021 Netflix original anime film Bright: Samurai Soul, a spin-off of the live-action film Bright. In this film, he voiced the character Koketsu, a villain who serves as the primary antagonist. The role was a significant challenge for the artist, who noted in promotional material that it was his first time expressing a character using only his voice, a process he found to be a difficult but engaging departure from his work in live-action performance.

Following his debut, MIYAVI took on another voice role in the critically acclaimed animated series Arcane, based on the League of Legends video game franchise. He voiced the character Finn, a crime lord from the underground city of Zaun, providing the voice for both the English and Japanese dubbed versions of the series. His involvement with Arcane extended beyond acting, as he also contributed the song Snake, created in collaboration with the American rock duo PVRIS, for the series' soundtrack. His participation in the project was influenced by his personal interest in games from Riot Games, the company behind League of Legends.
