Rika Nakagawa

Description
Rika Nakagawa is a Japanese actress and voice actress born on April 21, 1998, in Sapporo, Hokkaido. She is affiliated with the talent agency Sun Music Production. Her career began in her hometown when she joined the local idol group PEACEFUL in 2011, which disbanded the following year. While still in high school, she was a member of the debate club and won the top prize in the debate category at the 40th National High School Cultural Festival in 2016.

Before establishing herself as a voice actress, Nakagawa gained experience as a television personality, co-hosting the Hokkaido Television Broadcasting lifestyle program Switchin! from April 2016 to September 2017. She also appeared in live-action films, such as the 2017 movie Shashin Kōshien 0.5-Byō no Natsu. Her commitment to this film role led her to delay her university entrance exams by half a year. She subsequently moved to Tokyo to attend Keio University's Faculty of Policy Management, graduating in September 2021.

Nakagawa's path to voice acting was not a direct one. Initially active as a talent and actress, she was self-conscious about her voice. However, after being encouraged by a director who suggested she was suited for voice acting, she was recommended for a role in the anime Africa no Salaryman (African Office Worker), which became her debut voice acting role in 2019. Her first major role and voice acting lead came in 2022 when she was cast as Momiji Itō in the mixed-media project and anime series Shine Post. This role marked a significant step in her voice acting career. In 2024, she voiced the protagonist Kanata Misora in the original television anime series Narenare: Cheer for You!. For this series, she and her co-stars, as the unit PoMPoMs, also performed the opening theme song "Cheer for You!" and the ending theme "With".

Nakagawa's career is characterized by a blend of on-screen and voice work, often involving roles in multimedia projects. Her association with the Shine Post project is a notable example, where she not only voiced a character but also participated in the project's broader activities, including its music. Her role in Narenare: Cheer for You! similarly involved musical performance, highlighting a recurring aspect of her voice acting work in projects centered on performance. Her work is managed by Sun Music Production, which has overseen her transition from regional idol and television personality to a nationally recognized actress and voice artist.
