While he has appeared on stage and television since the 1960s, he is primarily renowned for his extensive and prolific career in dubbing, where he lends his voice to foreign actors and characters for the Italian audience. He is particularly famous as the official Italian voice of the late actor Robin Williams. In the realm of animation, Valli is widely recognized for voicing characters such as Rex in the Toy Story franchise, Gobber in the How to Train Your Dragon films, and Pops in The Secret Life of Pets movies.

In the context of anime and animated features, Valli has contributed his voice to a variety of characters. He is the voice of Direttore Yamamoto in the Italian dub of the Netflix series Spriggan.
